Which Proffesion should I choose?
Ok, those of you who red my first thread, you know about this. Anyway, I definatly want to have a mesmer as part of my cahracter. Probably primary proffesion. Anyway, I am thinking a Mesmer/Elementalist, but also... theres the option of a Mesmer/Warrior. So what should it be? I will be brand new to the game but I don't mind. I like challenges so that wont matter about difficultty. I want something that will be very fun. So yea... Mesmer/Elementalist sounds awesome. Because, Mesmer's abilities are awesome to like, slowly deminish an enemy. And then I have powerful elemental spelsl to attack from afar. I am thinking this would be an awesome contribution to a group. Great support from afar. because I will have suppporting fire and i will have spells that help/alter my fellow team-mates. However, I know I will get caught in melee sometimes, so thats why the warrior would be tempting. So yeah, give me feed back. Also, if you have a completely different combo with mesmer. let me here it. Give me info. guys. Ima newbie. Because like, I heared a mesmer/ranger is pretty good as well. Thanks guys.

I'd had more luck with the Mesmer/warrior. I tended to find that the Elementalist caused problems in that when some skills were used surrounding monsters would join in the fight. I tend to use more precision than large blasts. The second problem is that you can go through a lot of power to keep 2 spell classes alive, typically warrior skills doesn't use energy.
Note. If you start off at Level 1 in the Pre-Searing (ie the training grounds) it will give you a chance to fool around with both before you COMMIT to any one. See what you like. Last edited by March Hare; Mar 01, 2005 at 12:39 AM // 00:39.. |

i would personally go w/mes, but thats ok, but you should choose mes/w bcause if you char is an all casting char than back fire could put you out of buissiness :/ i love w/mes (or vis versa) all i ussually do is (on non-casters) use CP and just run up wack them around use mighty blow, and some other stuff, and with casters (monk ele mesh necro) i use backfire, CP, and the same with warrior, very simple and effective for begginers

I have a feeling just asking a question out like that will prompt people to answer what they would play rather than what you would necessarily like to play.
On the other hand, sense you seem to like mesmers a lot, might I suggest you just make a mesmer character with all mesmer skills on their bar to give them a good general try out? Or perhaps a Mes/Mo with a resurrect skill and 7 mesmer skills. |

ah now that???s a hard call, i liked the pre-made mes/ele PBAoE that they have and the mes/war Illusionary weapons build was a lot of fun.
If someone did some calculations that showed an IW build wasn't as good as a warrior build id be inclined to go with the mes/ele but that IW can put a serious hurt on and was a lot of fun to boot so i voted for it. In arena a war/ele called for a 1v1 and my team didn???t mind so i went over and cleaned him up pretty easily with the IW build. I was running with clumsiness on at the time so its hard to say if he could have out DPS me if I hadn???t had a 90 hp head start. I was looking at this from a purely damage perspective since thats what two of the most prominent builds for those class combinations do. If your going to be shutting down enemies id suggest necro or ranger combined with mesmer. The ranger???s debilitating shot is wicked for energy denial and necro has some nice anti-enchantment or anti-healing curses. Last edited by Draken; Mar 01, 2005 at 01:34 AM // 01:34.. |

Hehehe... I will try Mesmer/Elementalist and Vice versa. Or maybe just one. Also i will try a Mesmer/Warrior and Vice vers.... than again maybe just one. See which one I like the best. I'd like to try them all.
I can't have a guild if I have never played... >.< HOWEVER! Ever heared of Battle.Net? yeah teh made GW possible to be MONTHLY CHARGE FREE! ^_^! YAY! Anyway, they made the Diablo games, StarCraft, and WarCraft games. I have all of them but I love WarCraft III:The Frozen Throne the best! I have been in a clan on there for a long time. However we have spread to more then just Battle.Net. We include Counter Strike, EVEN GAMES AS LAME AS RUNESCAPE! >.< Hehehe... yeah, well, when we get some members on GW, I am almsot positive that we will get a guild on GW! MUwahahaaha... |
